The gender marker on my passport is X. This site lists information I’ve gathered about which airlines, travel companies, and other authorities recognize it.
- Air CanadaAir Canada has “Undisclosed” as a gender option for Aeroplan profiles, booking, and check-in.
- Air FranceAir France includes a non-binary gender option on Flying Blue profiles, but requires a binary title when booking a flight.
- Alaska AirlinesAlaska accepts non-binary gender options when selecting a gender on a Mileage Plan profile, booking a flight, and checking in.
- American AirlinesAmerican accepts non-binary gender options for AAdvantage profiles and booking flights.
- Delta Air LinesDelta accepts non-binary gender options for SkyMiles profiles and booking flights.
- ExpediaExpedia only accepts Male and Female when selecting gender for flight bookings, even if the underlying airline offers other options.
- Flair AirlinesFlair uses the title field to auto-fill the passport gender field when booking. The only options are Mr, Mrs, and Ms.
- Hawaiian AirlinesHawaiian only accepts Male and Female when selecting a gender on a HawaiianMiles profile or booking a flight.
- IcelandairIcelandair offers a “Non-binary/unspecified/other” option when booking a flight.
- JetBlueJetBlue only accepts Male and Female when selecting a gender on a TrueBlue profile or booking a flight.
- KLMKLM includes a non-binary gender option on Flying Blue profiles, but requires a binary title when booking a flight.
- LufthansaLufthansa only accepts Mr and Ms when selecting a title on a Miles & More profile or when booking a flight.
- SASSAS only accepts Male and Female when selecting a gender on an SAS EuroBonus profile or booking a flight.
- Southwest AirlinesSouthwest only accepts Male and Female when selecting a gender on a Rapid Rewards profile or booking a flight.
- United AirlinesUnited accepts non-binary gender options for MileagePlus profiles, booking flights, and checking in.
- WestJetWestJet is “currently making changes to our systems and processes to fully support non-binary gender guests for domestic and international travel”. It accepts “Unspecified (X)” as a gender option on a WestJet Rewards profile and when booking a flight, but only accepts Male and Female in the passport details on a profile.
