About me
I’m a Canadian with an X gender marker on my passport (as well as my provincial ID). I started compiling this guide for my own reference, but decided to publish it in case other people might find the information useful.
Disclaimer
The information on this site was collected on the date listed on each individual post. Things may have changed since I published them (hopefully for the better). Do not rely on the information here to be completely accurate and up to date.
Methods
I started listing airlines based in North America, since that’s where I’m located. I intend to add more, prioritizing airlines based in countries that issue passports with a non-binary gender marker. If there’s a specific airline you’d like me to add, send me a message using the contact form on this page.
Loyalty: I create a loyalty profile (if I don’t have one already) with the airline, and examine the gender options listed. If there isn’t a non-binary option, I try leaving it blank.
Booking: I start the booking process for a flight (international to/from Canada, if possible), and examine the gender options listed at the traveller information step.
Check-in: I check in for a flight I’ve booked on the airline. I detail the method I used to check in (via an app, website, kiosk, or at the counter) in each post.
